Construction Technology 3

CT3 may be a continuation from CT2. In CT3, we tend to learned topics like industrialized Building Systems (IBS), formed Installations, retentive Walls, Dewatering, Curtain Walls, Pre-stresssing ways and etc.



The objectives of this module are:
1. To compile the processes concerned at preconstruction stage additionally to the principles and controls applied throughout the development programme.
2. To indentify the ways of heavy/highway and building construction and options info on new construction technology.
3. To introduce the newest construction practices and processes for tall buildings from foundation to roof.
The learning outcomes of this subject are:

Building Services 2
Lecturer: Mr Kam Kenn Jhun
Building Services 2 is a continuation of Building Services 1.In BS2, I learned services in the building such as air-conditioning , fire protection system, vertical transportation system and electricity.
The objectives of the module are: 1. To create awareness and understanding of the principles of service systems in a building.
2. To introduce various building services system that are available and the limitation of choices - the services considered are air-conditioning system, fire protection system, vertical transport like lift and escalator, and electricity.
3. To apply our understanding and knowledge for our preparation of the Bills of Quantities and for estimating purposes.
Taylor's Graduate Capabilities (TGC) After learning this subject, I realized I have developed some of the TGC's.
1.Discipline Specific Knowledge - I am able to put theories into practice
2. Lifelong Learning - I am able to learn independently and effectively locate, extract, synthesize and utilised information
3. Interpersonal Skills -Group assignments made me understand team dynamics and the importance of teamwork
Reflection: Throughout the whole semester, I learned various types of services in a building and their function. Through this assignment, I have an opportunity to study about the services in a shopping mall. When preparing this assignment, we faced rejections in the form of non-approval from various building management, but thankfully the management of THE MINES SHOPPING MALL was kind enough to grant us an approval to do the needful for completion of this assignment. In this instant, I would like to state my appreciation to our lecturer, Mr Kam who has willingly impart his knowledge to us. He made his lessons easy to understand and interesting.
MANAGEMENT SCIENCE

In Management Science, I learned the background, theories, 
ideas and principles of management. I learned topics like Intro to Management, higher cognitive process, Business Strategy, Organisational style, Motivation, Communication, Human Resource Management, Time Management and lots of a lot of

The objectives of the module are:
1. to grasp management principles and to equip the scholars with a information of its application in construction comes.
2. To develop awareness and understanding of the various sorts of management tools in the development business and to boost employment prospectus.
3. give students confidently within the understanding the procedures for strategy formulation and higher cognitive process.

The learning outcomes for this subject are:
1. outline the operation of various sorts of organisations within the industry.

Reflection:
Throughout the total semester, I even have learned soft skills like leadership, higher cognitive process , teamwork , communication and lots of a lot of. These soft skills can sure facilitate American state in my future to be a good worker. At constant time, I gained information on a way to build a video presentation.
